Common Sandpiper Super Flock - Blyth Estuary - 13th September 2023


Yeah, ever since I went birding on patch this morning, everyone has wanted to see my photos of the Common Sandpiper Super Flock. Totalling a whopping twelve (12) Common Sandpipers. No one has ever seen this many Common Sands in one place at one time. Pretty. Big. Deal.

As well as the Common Sandpiper Super Flock there was a pretty sweet supporting cast, including; Bar-tailed and Black-tailed Godwits, two Greenshank, building wildfowl numbers, the first patch Merlin (pictured) and a trio of Yellow Wagtails (pictured) which were my first actually on-the-deck as opposed to just flying over:
